Am Samoa Governor Lemanu Peleti last week received the call of support from our Prime Minister, Fiame Naomi Mataafa.

The ofice of the governor confirmed the conversation between the two leaders in which Fiame assured the governor that Samoa standing by to assist Am Samoa efforts just as American Samoa had done when the first cases of covid were dicovered in quarantine sites in Apia a few months ago. Expressing his appreciation, Governor Lemanu said the two Samoa will continue to fight to protect its people from the affects of Covid 19 .

The two leaders also reiterated the common perspective shared by two countries on many important political issues, they agreed to continue calls collaboration between both countries and fighting global challenges like climate change and the economic impacts of the pandemic.

The leaders look forward to meetn each other in various important meeting later this year and continuing their discussions on our issue of mutual interest.

One case from LBJ was not added to the cumulative count from February 25th, 2022. The count has been amended.

On February 26, 2022, a total of 224 tests were conducted.

9 tested positive. All 9 were fully vaccinated. There were no reported hospitalizations or deaths related to COVID-19.

Anyone who tests positive is served with a Home Isolation Directive. They are to stay isolated at home for 14 days. All family members in the same household are considered close contacts and are served with a Home Quarantine Directive, also for 14 days.

Enforcement of Home Isolation and Quarantine will be conducted by the Department of Public Safety and Office of Samoan Affairs.

80.3 % of the total population is fully vaccinated.
