Group of friends from Australia have provided the Samoa Victim Support Group (SVSG) with professional support in terms of paramedics and health.

A child protection manager, a mental health recovery officer, a social worker, and two paramedics made up the group of peers. They are here for two weeks to help the child safety team, working with the children on the ground at the Campus of Hope shelter facility.

Working with the child protection team at the SVSG headquarters in Apia this week will involve going over the Group's Child Safeguarding Policy Review and pertinent procedures.

According to Siliniu Lina Chang, the Founder of S.V.S.G, they learned a lot as they discussed the necessity for continual evaluation of child safeguarding, as well as the obligations and dangers associated with the work that S.V.S.G does to protect children.

As a child safe organisation, SVSG will ensure that resources are allocated to strengthen its child safeguarding processes and practices to meet national and development partner requirements, for child protection compliance.

Samoa Victim Support Team and the Campus of Hope expressed their noble souls of the helping hands of the gentlemen.

“Thank you so much Sebastian and Stephen Aiono for coordinating such a timely visit to support SVSG where relevant. Your sincerity in supporting SVSG to improve the capacity of its personnel to implement its child protection and safeguarding work for the children of Samoa, is greatly appreciated.” Siliniu Lina Chang.
