The Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O) of the Ministry of Health, Aiono Dr. Alec Ekeroma, has confirmed that some restaurants in the country have been closed down because they could not meet the required health standards.

Valasi Luapitofanua To'ogamaga Tafito Selesele, the Minister of Health, spoke at the Parliament meeting on Tuesday of this week reconfirmed the statement by the Health C.E.O

The mission of the Ministry of Health is to ensure that all the people of Samoa live well, and this is the reason why the health services and its workers are working tirelessly to reach this objective.

The Health Services C.E.O is warning all restaurant owners in the country, saying that eateries and restaurants that do not meet the requirements by the Ministry, will either be closed down or a warning will be issued.

The Ministry is not only referring to restaurants, but some small businesses and eateries that serve food near the road.

The Ministry will prepare some conditions or guidelines that will enable them to reach the required health protocols for restaurants and food outlets.

From some of the restaurants that have been temporarily closed, there are also some restaurants that have been given a warning to clean up or they will be ordered to close down by the Ministry.
