Digicel Launches ‘FREEDOM TO BE’ Campaign

On Tuesday 19th July 2022 Digicel, Samoa’s Fastest Mobile Network certified by Ookla officially launched their new “Freedom to Be” campaign.

The new campaign draws inspiration from Samoa’s 60th Year of Independence along with the opening of international borders after 27 months and is a testament to the Company’s efforts to maximize opportunities for its customers.

The company acknowledged Samoa’s resilience throughout the challenging period, and shared that their aim was to inspire customers, whilst also celebrating the country’s Independence along with the freedom to finally travel and connect with loved ones free of restrictions.

As part of the Freedom campaign Digicel also launched two new initiatives with a strong focus on investing in the local community and expanding its consumer offerings.

The company’s “Freedom to Excel” initiative included the launch of Digicel’s brand new line of sports apparel for the promotion of sports in the country. The cutting-edge apparel was designed specifically with Samoan athletes and weather conditions in mind, hence the use of fabric best suited for enhancing sports performance while keeping athletes cool and comfortable.

As part of this initiative Digicel invited budding sports athletes and sports clubs to sign up and experience the top-of-the-line sports apparel and encouraged teams and athletes to reach out to them through its social media channels to find out more.

The second part of the initiative titled “Freedom to be” is massive consumer promotion scheduled to run from July 20th up until January 6, 2023.

The promotion will offer Digicel customers a chance to win from an exciting range of prizes which include data bundles, Smart TVS, Smartphones, Barbeque sets, weekly air flight tickets to Auckland NZ, and even a 2023 Ford Ranger XLT.

The Chief Executive Officer of Digicel Samoa, Seiuli Deepak Khanna, stated; “These promotions are Digicel’s way of connecting with the sporting community and empowering them to pursue their passion and excel in sporting arenas domestically as well as around the globe.”

He went on to share; “The 60th year of Independence this year calls for a large celebration of many things such as the festivities around the country, family reunions which were postponed for two and a half years and students travelling overseas to pursue their academic dreams. The hero prize is the 2023 Ford Ranger XLT which we have customized and perfectly fits the bill of the most aspirational vehicle in the country.”
