Leaving behind a lifelong friend and an incredible partnership on the field, Stephen Crichton, the star centre for the Penrith Panthers, as well as the Toa Samoa, embarks on a new journey with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. Crichton and his best mate, Brian To'o, have been a force to be reckoned with, dominating the rugby league world for Penrith, New South Wales, and Samoa since their debut in 2019.

Their dynamic duo's legacy is undeniable, contributing to the Panthers' extraordinary run of four consecutive grand finals, a feat that few teams can boast. Despite their remarkable achievements, the bond between these two local juniors transcends the rugby field.

Crichton's departure from Penrith, a club that he has grown up with and dedicated himself to, is an emotionally charged decision. In his own words, leaving Penrith has been "the hardest thing" he has ever done. However, he views this move as an opportunity to give back to the club and do his best for the team.

As Crichton shared his decision with To'o, emotions ran high. To'o and his partner were deeply affected by the news, reflecting the strength of the bond that has developed over the years. Crichton's gesture of sharing the news with To'o before anyone else is a testament to the deep friendship they share.

Their connection goes beyond the rugby pitch, extending into their personal lives and even their families. They attend the same church, and their families are close-knit. The fun and camaraderie they share off the field are just as remarkable as their on-field chemistry.

Crichton, set to join the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in 2024 on a lucrative four-year deal worth $3.3 million, may be leaving Penrith, but the friendship he has with To'o remains unbreakable. Their story is a reminder of the human side of professional sports, where the bonds formed with teammates can be just as significant as the victories on the field. Crichton and To'o have shown that, no matter where their careers take them, the enduring friendship they've built will continue to thrive.
