Lava Hotel has launched its 5 days of celebration for this year's 60th Independence Anniversary.

Lava Hotel will be collaborating with the Samoa Hotel and Hospitality Association (S.H.H.A.) and the Samoa Tourism Authority (S.T.A.) to host the "Waterfront Independence Day celebration" at Malaefatu Park.

In a press conference on Friday, the Chairman of Lava Hotel Pepe Christian Fruean said that the event at the Waterfront will be on the 1st of June but the hotel will start their 5 day event starting from Tuesday to Saturday.

Lava Hotel will offer entertainment and specials throughout the week which will will include food and beverage, and live entertainment from bands such as ON-Fire Band, and Iulei Band.

In a response to Eyespy radio queries, Pepe said that there will be social distancing, and the use of masks due to current State of Emergency orders

"It's manadatory that any event that involves the public should adhere to the existing health protocols," Pepe told Eyespy Radio.

He also stated that as there are other hotels on Beach Road, they will also use the opportunity to increase business.

"When we hold events like this everyone in this whole area can benefit and I think that's really important for the Samoan economy," he said.
