A young man from the village of Vaivase Uta ,charged with breaking into and robbing a business in Tauese has made an appearance before the Supreme Court.

The authorities reported that this young man stole 50 bottles of Taula beer and 15 bottles of liquor from the Cocktails on the Rocks establishment.

However, when this young individual appeared before the Supreme Court, he denied the number of bottles that was charged against him despite the fact that the stolen products had a total worth of $3,360.

"I only took four liquor bottles and three cases of Taula beer” the young man claimed in his presentation within the Supreme Court.

Eyespy Radio contacted the Cocktails On The Rock on Tuesday this week for a comment regarding the incident.

According to statements made by the management of Cocktails On The Rocks, the police have received evidence, including video from security cameras that captured the crime being committed by the accused.

"The incident happened in the early hours of January 26 , he was reported on the same day" stated Eyespy's informant.

It is understood that the wife of the accuse was a former employee at the establishment he broke into.

The High Court was informed during the prosecution's inquiry that the young man had broken into the Cocktails on the Rocks building in Tauese in late January.

However, he refuted the prosecution's claim that he stole 15 bottles of alcohol during his testimony before the court.

After this incident was resolved, the Court heard additional burglary accusations, against the same young man, that allegedly occured on September 15, 2022.

Attorney Sifuiva Maureen Tuimalelifano is representing the defendant. Justice Fepuleai Ameperosa Roma adjourned the case.

The case was postponed until it was considered again on April 3rd, but only after the prosecution re-examines the charges as they contradict with the accused's account.
