N.B.S SUPPORTS SAMOA WEIGHTLIFTING

The National Bank of Samoa, in its continuous efforts to support sports in the country, has donated $10,000 to Samoa Weightlifting Federation Incorporated.

The committed and hardworking coach of Samoa Weightlifting, Tuaopepe Asiata Jerry Wallwork, stated during an interview with Eyespy Radio during the cheque handover at the bank's headquarters in Apia on Monday that they've signed a 2-week partnership with N.B.S.

"N.B.S and Samoa Weightlifting have signed a two-week partnership in preparations for the Oceania Weightlifting Championship next month."

"We are grateful to N.B.S for this monetary assistance and thankful for their support. 

"The Oceania Championships will be hosted by Samoa and we hope to secure a lot of gold medals from the competition which will feature renowned lifters from the Pacific region," stated Tuaopepe.

Samoa's inaugural gold medal winner at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Sanele Mao, stated that his aim at this year's Oceania Championships is to win a gold for Samoa.

"Winning gold is the goal and aspiration of any athlete in any respectable sport. But for us from the Samoa Weightlifting team, it is paramount that we perform well as we are hosting the Championships," he said.

The Chief Executive Officer of the National Bank of Samoa, Mr. Sam Swann said that N.B.S is proud to offer assistance to Samoa Weightlifting.

"We hope that you do well at the Oceania Championships and accumulate a lot of medals for Samoa," he said.
