Papalii Is Back As Justice C.E.O.
Papalii J. Taimalelagi Afele is back at the Ministry of Justice and Courts Administration (M.J.C.A.) as its Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O.).
Papalii replaces outgoing C.E.O. for the M.J.C.A. Moliei Simi Vaai.
His appointment was announced in a Wednesday media release from the Government of Samoa.
Papalii has vast knowledge of the work of the justice ministry and the courts after serving 10 years in the ministry, according to the release.
He worked as an Assistant C.E.O. and then C.E.O. from 2016 to 2019.
Papalii also has experience in the working in the court system of the New Zealand Ministry of Justice (N.Z.M.O.J.).
“Papalii John Taimalelagi Afele is the new Chief Executive Officer to lead the Ministry of Justice and Courts Administration (M.J.C.A.), the release states.
“Papali’i has extensive experience and knowledge of the work of the Ministry of Justice and Courts Administration, having worked there for over 10 years, starting at the ACEO level and then being appointed CEO from 2016 to 2019. He also worked in the court system in the New Zealand Ministry of Justice.”
Papalii graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from the University of the South Pacific in 2003.
He also passed a Certificate of Samoan Customary Mediation from Otago University and is now a fourth year law student pursuing a Bachelor of Law (LLB) at Auckland University of Technology.
His appointment is for three years.
