POLICE INVESTIGATE ASSAULT CAUGHT ON VIDEO

A footage gone viral on social media which shows a man being assaulted next to the "777" taxi stand in Sogi is currently being investigated by Samoa Police.

The beginning of the footage shows two men being brutally assaulted by two other individuals near the seawall behind the "777" cab stand.

It later showed another suspect slapping another victim, rendering him unconscious.

He then started kicking his head, while the other defendant stomped on the victim's chest.

Then another suspect took the unconscious man's sandals.

The disturbing  video which was uploaded during the weekend has caused the public to call for the immediate arrest of the suspects.

The Police Commissioner, Auapaau Logoitino Filipo in response to Eyespy Radio's questions regarding the incident stated in an interview on Tuesday afternoon that all of the suspects seen in the video will be brought in and charged.

He stated that potential charges range from aggravated assault and causing grievous bodily harm.
