Talofa and greetings. I wish to advise the public that his honor Lesātele Rapi Va’ai has been appointed to the position of President of the Lands and Titles Court as per provisions of the Constitutional Amendment Act 2020.
He will be sworn in this coming Wednesday, 02nd November. Lesātele is a lawyer and was first appointed to the District Court in 1996. He was appointed to the Supreme Court in 2001 until 2017.
In 2021 he was again appointed as a Judge of the Supreme Court. As a senior Samoan matai together with his vast experience in the workings of the Courts including the Lands and Titles Court, he will bring wise leadership to the Presidency of the Lands & Titles Court.
I wish to acknowledge his honor Fepulea’i Atila Ropati who is the outgoing President of the Lands & Titles Court for his service in this important Court on matters Samoan.
The work of the Lands & Titles Court is central to the protection and preservation of Samoa’s customs and traditions. We wish his honor Lesātele Rapi Va’ai God’s blessings on his appointment.
