Samoa Mourns Loss Of Vaaelua Aloi Alesana
Famous television personality Vaaelua Aloi Alesana, passed away on Wednesday at the Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital due to heart failure.
The former Manu Samoa A representative who was also a manager for the team, will always be remembered for his humorous jokes on TV1 Samoa's Talanoa Lakapi program.
Talanoa Lakapi host and journalist Taulealea Sioeli Alofaifo, conveyed during a telephone interview with Eyespy Radio 87.5 on Thursday, that the sudden loss of his co-host and close friend caught him off-guard.
"I can't believe he's gone," he said. "He always had a positive attitude whenever we hosted the show together. Vaaelua always came up with new and funny jokes whenever we shot an episode for Talanoa Lakapi, and that is why his sudden passing has struck deep into my heart because he had a very positive personality and was always a happy person," he added.
Manu Samoa Seven's head coach Muliagatele Brian Lima, is also grieving the death of his colleague. "He was a very outspoken character, there was never a dull moment when he was around. I know Samoa will surely miss Aloi and funny personality," he said.
Vaaelua was also a logistics manager for Lakapi Samoa back in 2018 and was also the manager for the Manu Samoa team at the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England.
Messages of condolences by members of the public, friends and colleagues of Vaaelua have flooded social media platforms since the news of Vaaelua's death was announced.
