The anticipation is palpable as Team Samoa Sailing stands ready on the cusp of their much-awaited Women's Races at the SOL23 Pacific Games today. Arriving in the Solomon Islands with gratitude for their sponsors and supporters, the team has swiftly acclimatized to the venue and is poised for a stellar performance.

Having touched down in Honiara last week, the athletes have not only navigated the currents and winds of the sailing venue but have also been soaking in the warm hospitality of the Solomon Islands hosting team. With their bunk bed-equipped rooms providing a comfortable haven, the team is focused, determined, and eager to showcase their sailing prowess on this international stage.

In a recent update, the team expressed their appreciation for the overwhelming support and alofa, carrying the Samoan family spirit with them. Their message resonated with a resounding "Fa’afetai faafetai faafetai tele lava" and an impassioned "Go team Samoa" accompanied by the national flag emoji.

Today marks the commencement of the Women's Races, running from November 20th to November 25th. As the team readies themselves for the competition, spirits are high, and optimism radiates among the sailors. Despite facing unique challenges in the sailing conditions compared to their home base, Team Samoa Sailing remains undeterred and ready to adapt swiftly to the evolving circumstances.

Team Manager, Fritz Rasch, emphasized the team's preparedness, stating, "Our athletes are not only physically fit but mentally resilient. We've received tremendous support from the Solomon Islands people, and we are ready to make our mark in the Pacific Games."

The team have engaged in rigorous sailing sessions, ensuring they are finely tuned for the challenges ahead. As the day unfolds, Team Samoa Sailing invites everyone to join them in spirit, cheering them on as they navigate the waves and strive for success in the Women's Races.
