The 2022 Commonwealth Games Baton is coming to Samoa.

The Birmingham Commonwealth Games will kick start on the 18th of July to the 8th of August 2022 one of the regional events that Samoa has proven to rank highly in on the international stage. And as per tradition of these games the Commonwealth Games Baton which carries a message from the queen will be carried around in the baton relay within 72 nations and territories which also include Samoa.

In the next 9 days the baton will arrive in our neighboring nation of Fiji, where in a statement issued on Radio New Zealand "The Fijian President, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere, will officially receive the Baton, which will then visit various destinations around the country." Which shows that Fiji will indeed be hosting the baton.

Where it will then leave Fiji for Samoa on the 14th of February.

We have reached out to SASNOC for a comment on the batons trajectory towards Samoa, and if there are plans to host, as Samoa is currently on Level 2 of the SOE, but have yet to get a reply.
