U18 Pasifika Youth Cup postponed
The Uder-18 Pasifika Youth Cup currently being held in Auckland has been cancelled until further notice due to the S.O.E (State of Emergency) declared by the New - Zealand government for the heavily flooded city.
The N.Z Government have declared the S.O.E for Auckland in its bid to prioritize the safety of members of the public.
The tournament kicked off on January 26th at Bay Roskill Rugby Club's field.
Although the tournament has been put on hold, Samoa is the in-form side as they have yet to taste defeat after winning their two matches against Tonga and N.Z Maori.
Samoa is leading the competition after defeating Tonga in the first match of the Pacific Youth Cup in a very close encounter by 12 - 10.
Up next for the young warriors in blue were the home side N.Z Maori who were favored by many as the team to win the tournament.
The host side put up a good fight, but it was not enough as Samoa was too strong and held on to win by 20 - 18.
Samoa were scheduled to meet the Cook Islands next but the match has been postponed until it is declared that it is safe for the tournament to resume again.
