Vaimoso Methodist Church opens $1.5 million chapel

Vaimoso Methodist Church opened a $1.5 million chapel on Friday, a year after construction had commenced.

The chapel was officially opened on Friday morning with a church service that was attended by leaders of the Methodist Church in Samoa, Members of Parliament, and the former Head of State Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi, and members of the Vaimoso Methodist Church.

The secretary of the Vaimoso Methodist Church committee Manuleleua Asiata Ioane said in an interview on Friday that the total cost of the construction of the chapel is $1,519,208.

Construction of the chapel according to Manuleleua, started on the 6th of June 2021 and was completed on the 8th of June 2022.

Manuleleau had given his thanks to the Methodist Church of Samoa, and had also given thanks to Betham Brothers Enterprises, and Ulia Construction for their support.

"We would like to thank the public for their generosity during our fundraisings such as the corporate table," Manuleleua said on Friday.

"We raised a lot of money from it, and it was a huge amount of help."

Manuleleua had also given thanks to family and friends in Australia for their support.
