Cabinet approves re-appointment of three CEOs.
Cabinet has approved the reappointment of the Chief Executive Officer for the Ministry of Prime Minister and the Cabinet, the CEO of Ministry of Public Enterprises(MPE) and the CEO of the Unit Trust of Samoa .
The re-appointed CEO of M.P.M.C, Agafili Tomaimano Shem Leo will serve for the next three years.
This was highlighted by the Prime Minister Hon Fiame Naomi Mataafa on Thursday afternoon during the press conference.
Fiame said that the Cabinet approved the panels recommendation to re-appoint Agafili to this position.
Agafili is also the Chairman of the National Emergency Operations Centre(NEOC) that responses to disaster.
This would be his third term in office.
For the Ministry of Public Enterprices the cabinet has approved the reappointment of Elita Tooala to the position of Chief Excutive Officer for her third term.
Ms Tooala is the first female CEO and first Chief Executive Office for this Ministry since its establishment in 2015.
Ms. Elita To’oala, a young and vibrant leader who holds several tertiary qualifications including a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Western Sydney.
And for another three years, the Prime Minister has also confirmed the reappointment of Tevaga Viane Tagi'ilima to lead the Unit Trust of Samoa for next thre years.
Tevaga began his career at the Ministry of Finance where he remained for 11 years, advancing through the ranks to hold the position of ACEO for the Budget Division in 2006.
He holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and possesses considerable and highly relevant financial management experience from both government and state-owned enterprises.
The Unit Trust of Samoa is an initiative of the Government of Samoa mandated under the Unit Trusts Act 2008, whose goal is to provide “an investment vehicle for local and overseas-based Samoans and Samoan businesses”. The establishment of the Unit Trust of Samoa was approved by the Minister of Finance on 2nd March 2009 as required by section 3 of the Unit Trusts Act 2008.
