217 Samoans Graduate From A.P.T.C

Around  217 students have completed have completed their studies with A.P.T.C (Australia Pacific Training Coalition) and were awarded Certificates in trades ranging from Construction, Plumbing Services, Skills for Work & Vocational Pathways, Air-conditioning and Refrigeration, Applied Fashion Design & Technology, Commercial Cookery, Community Services,Electrolotechnology Electrician, Education Support, Engineering - Fabrication Trade, Hospitality, Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Tourism,Leadership & Management, and International skills Training.

The graduation ceremony was held yesterday morning at the National University of Samoa's gymnasium, which was packed and crowded with families and loved ones of this year's graduates.

During her remarks, the Interim Executive Director of A.P.T.C, Ms. Nicki Baird congratulated this year's graduating class on their achievement. "Thank you for selecting A.P.T.C to further your learning and career prospects. I am certain you have enjoyed the enriching study experience and gained many skills along the way.'"

"Today is your day. For your hard work and dedication, you will be awarded an internationally recognized Australian qualification that is issued through TAFE Queensland (RTO 0275)."

"I trust that the skills and knowledge you acquired will equip you well for employment and that you have also forged new friendships with students from across the region. On behalf of the Australian Pacific Training Coalition, congratulations and I wish you every success in your career journey," she stated.

The Acting Australian High Commissioner to Samoa, Ms.Claire McGeechan, during her keynote address stated, "On behalf of the Australian Government  I am so pleased to be with you today to celebrate the achievement of these 217 Samoans who have been awarded qualifications through the  A.P.T.C. Firstly to all the graduates, congratulations on reaching the milestone, and know that we share in your excitement as we celebrate this day with you. 

"Education is not just the key to unlocking individual potential, but it is a catalyst for uplifting entire communities. Your achievements today will not only contribute to you and your family's prosperity, but also to the prosperity of a nation. As a student myself a long long time ago, I understand the challenges and sacrifices one must make to succeed in our academic journey. That is why I warmly commend you for your incredible commitment and perseverance to ensure the successful completion of your studies," she stated.

Tupai Darryl Roache who has attained a Certificate 3 in Plumbing during the Graduates Address thanked all the families and friends of the graduates for supporting them on their academic journeys. He stated that there were adversities and challenges, but he is thankful that there are people who assisted and helped them throughout their studies.
