R.S.A Bouncer Charged With Attempted Murder

A bouncer of the RSA clubhouse in Apia has been charged with assault, inflicting grievous bodily harm and attempted murder of a 48-year-old father from Samalaeulu and Fusi in Safotulafai.

In an interview with the Commissioner of the Samoa Police Service, Auapaau Logoitino Filipo, stated that the incident occurred two weeks  ago. He also added that the victim is in critical condition as a result of the assault and is being treated at the Motootua Hospital.

Police have arrested and charged Andrew Samuelu from Vaiusu for assaulting the club goer and leaving him for unconscious. is now under the custody of Police awaiting the 20th of this month to appear before court to answer to the charges laid against him.

In a report by Radio Polynesia, it mentioned  that a taxi driver witnessed the beating and took the injured man to the hospital for medical attention. 

A family member of the victim in an interview with  Radio Polynesia conveyed that her cousin suffered head injuries and is lucky to be alive.

“According to the physician, my cousin bled from his brain. He was intoxicated when the incident occurred and that meant he was unable to stand against his attacker, because his view and decision-making were impaired,” she said.

The concerned cousin of the victim is prompting for more stringent policies for people working as securities at the night clubs, so they don’t take advantage of and assault people who are intoxicated.
