The (N.U.S) National University of Samoa's gymnasium on Thursday morning was fully packed with parents and families of the 540 students who've graduated with a Foundation Certificate in their chosen field of study. Tears of joy and pride were shed by many of the students' parents at the ceremony as the new graduates received their certificates.

During his remarks at Thursday's proceedings, the Vice Chancellor and President of N.U.S, Professor Aiono Alec Ekeroma, conveyed that "Graduation is an important part of university life where staff, family and friends celebrate the success of graduates,"

"On behalf of N.U.S, I congratulate all our graduates and look forward to hearing about your successes," he stated.

The Top Foundation Agriculture Student went to Kathina Leata Samasoni. Meginnah Victoria Manuleleua received the award for being the Top Foundation History Student and also the Top Foundation Sociology Student. The Top Equal Foundation Law Students went to Querida Melanie Maria Chan-Tung and Maria Vui.

The Top Foundation Anthropology Student award was awarded to Mareta A'aone Malifa who is also the Top Foundation English Student, Top Foundation Geography Student, and Top Foundation Arts Student.

Natsumi Hikurani attained the Top Foundation Education Student while Morryacy Wong-Ling Tolo received the Top Foundation General Student award. The Top Foundation Nursing Student was awarded to Tynisha Miti Misa, while Anita Alex and Michellechenpeixin Chen both won the Top Foundation Biology Students award.

The Top Foundation Technology Student went to Lorive Salu while Vincent Stowers won the Top Foundation Mathematics Trophy. Nesa Sinclair and Aukuso Emmanuel Tausili are the Top Foundation Human Biology Students for this year.

Karen Tasmania Talo received the Top Foundation Computing Student award, Angel Lani Tuaifiso won the Top Foundation Chemistry prize.

Alen Peni received the Top Foundation Physics Student and Top Foundation Science Student awards. Chloe Maxine Pereira is this year's Top Foundation Marketing Student, while Mamere Punipuao Sialaoa is the Top Foundation Economics Student.

Querida Melanie Maria Chan-Tung won the award for Top Foundation Accounting Student, Top Management Student, Top Foundation Commerce Student, and the Top Overall Foundation Programme Student.

Ms. Chan Tung conveyed after receiving the Foundation Programme's most prestigious award that all her sacrifices and perseverance have paid off. "I praise God for his guidance and for giving me the strength to complete my academic journey this year," she said.

The Top Foundation Computing Student, Ms. Karen Tasmania Talo, stated during an interview with Eyespy Radio that this year was a tough year filled with adversities, nevertheless she endured and was able to successfully complete her studies.
