An additional 65 new Police recruits have now been joined into the Samoa Police Prisons & Correctional Services.

There were 24 female and 42 male rescruits who graduated.

Families and friends and loved ones gathered at the Tuiatua Tupua Tamasese building flooded with balloons and bouquets to congratulate their sons and daughters. Proud representatives from the Big Island of Savaii also cheered for men and women constables who joined the programme.

In the congratulatory , Police Commissioner Auapau Logoitino Filipo highlighted the significance of recruiting new Police members as the Ministry currently needs more. He also highlighted the goal they are currently aiming for. That is to recruit as much interest as possible.

"The Ministry currently has 864 police who are currently serving at the time. This includes those who are currently serving at the Prisons and Services and normal policing "stated the Commissioner.

Now with the newly 65 members recruited , the total of 921 police is almost reaching the goal of "number".

One of the graduates told EyeSpy Radio he was extremely overwhelmed to have made it to the very end. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards his colleagues and family.
