American Corner Opened At Salelologa
The new American Corner in Salelologa is the second American education focused space set up in the big island of Savaii.
The first project was officially opened back in October 2010 at the Nelson Memorial Library in Apia.
The main objective of the initiative is to provide literacy and general library resources for the people of Samoa, and to also serve and provide literacy and general library resources for all Samoans.
The American Corner in Salelologa is fully furnished with desks, chairs, bookshelves and reading resources, with free internet and five new computers.
The Ministry of Education Sports and Culture (M.E.S.C) will facilitate the corner and oversee its daily operations with guidance from the U.S Embassy on various educational programs, which will include reading, English tutorials and highlighting special events.
The American Corner Salelologa was officially opened today (10/02/2023) with the cutting of the ribbon conducted by His Excellency the U.S Ambassador Thomas Stuart Udall and the Minister of Education Sports and Culture Hon. Seuula Ioane.
