A.N.Z Bank Employee Charged With Theft As A Servant

A 38-year-old woman from the villages of Sato'alepai and Nu'u-fou, has been charged by Samoa Police with theft while serving as a public servant at the ANZ Bank in Apia.

The Deputy Police Commissioner of Samoa Police, Papali'i Monalisa Tia'i-Keti, stated in an interview with the media that the defendant is alleged to have stolen an estimated amount of $80,000 tala.

The Deputy Commissioner also said that they are still investigating the matter in trying to find if the accused stole much more than the initial amount of $80,000tala.

Papali'i further added that the accused is currently out on bail and is required to sign in at the Apia Police Station every Wednesday till her court hearing on the 12th of December this year.
