CABINET ELECTS DELEGATES FOR AOTEROA NZ
Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mata'afa has announced three prestigious positions that have been allocated for Samoa in Aoteroa New Zealand.
In a press conference with the media last Friday , the Prime Minister have released the names of the chosen candidates to fulfill the duties and roles of Samoan representatives in New Zealand.
The Consular General in Auckland position has been given to the hands of Afemata Palusalue Faapo II who was also the Party Leader of the Tautua Samoa Political Party.
Afamasaga Toleafoa Faamatala has been chosen to be the High Commissioner of Samoa in Aoteroa New Zealand. The Prime Minister highlighted that the decision from the Cabinet to elect Afamasaga comes after Afamasaga's previous service as a High Commissioner of Samoa in Auckland in 1984.
"He is no stranger to the role and has also served in Belgium as Samoa's High Commisioner" says Prime Minister Fiame Naomi.
The Trade Commissioner of Samoa in New Zealand role has been handed over to Vatu'itu'i Apete Meredith who according to Prime Minister Fiame "is familiar with the duties it upholds".
"It is one of the most important roles as it pushes Samoa's marketing export of our produce to overseas countries" says the Prime Minister.
