Chiefs Win Super Bowl 57
The Kansas City Chiefs have defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38 - 35 in what was one of the most entertaining Super Bowl game ever.
Although the Super Bowl was being played thousand miles away in the U.S, hundreds of N.F.L fanatics here on island gathered at Taumeasina Island Resort and Cocktails on the Rocks in Apia to witness the Chiefs take on the Eagles.
The first quarter was a game of tit-for-tat as both sides answered scored one TD each to tie the game at 7 all.
In the second quarter the game was still at a stalemate as both teams each scored a touchdown to draw 14 h 14.
Eagle's quarterback Jalen Hurts gave his team a 21 - 14 lead with a QB sneak on the right side 2 minutes left in the second quarter.
The Chiefs' offense was without possession for a total of 23 mins in the first half as Jalen Hurts managed to hold on to the ball for most of the first half.
With one minute to go in the first half, Chiefs' quarterback Patrick Mahomes sprained his ankle after sneaking through the Eagles defense in a sneak play.
The Chiefs looked like all hopes were gone for them with Mahomes injured awaiting of he's okay to continue playing.
When the signal for halftime was sounded the Eagles were leading the Chiefs 24 - 14.
Mahomes returned in the second half looking like he did not suffer an ankle injury.
Mahomes showed why he was selected as the M.V.P for this year when he pulled his offensive team together to hold out against the Eagles beating them 38 - 35.
One of the spectators at Taumeasina who was supporting the Philadelphia Eagles, Mr. Dan Maika, said in interview with Eyespy that even though his team didn't get the win, he's glad that he had a great time watching the game with his family.
There were four players of Samoan heritage that played in the Super Bowl, which include Juju Smith-Schuster and Jordan Mailata to name a few.
