In the wake of Severe Tropical Cyclone Lola, which severely affected the Pacific island nation of Vanuatu, Digicel Pacific has taken a compassionate step to help connect people with their loved ones. The telecommunication company is offering free calls from select Pacific countries to Vanuatu for a limited time.

The countries included in this generous offer are Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, and Nauru, where customers will be able to make calls to Vanuatu without incurring any charges. This initiative comes as a response to the aftermath of Cyclone Lola, which has left many residents of Vanuatu grappling with the devastating impact of the storm.

Shally Jannif, the Regional CEO of Digicel Pacific, emphasized the importance of staying connected with friends and family, especially during challenging times like this. He encouraged people in the Pacific region to reach out to their loved ones in Vanuatu to offer support and reassurance.

While the cyclone has caused damage to infrastructure in some areas, affecting the network services of Digicel Vanuatu, the company has been working diligently to restore connectivity. In regions like Santo, Malo, Gauau, and Paama, calls and SMS services have already been reinstated, and limited 3G connectivity is available. In other areas, such as parts of Malekula, Maewoo, Ambae, Vanua Lava, and Ambrym islands, connectivity has also been partially restored.

Digicel Vanuatu expressed its gratitude to its customers for their understanding and patience during this challenging period. The company continues to closely monitor network performance and is dedicated to resolving any remaining issues as swiftly as possible.

Yaser Maher, CEO of Digicel Vanuatu, underscored the company's commitment to providing not only excellent service but also social responsibility to the people of Vanuatu. He emphasized their dedication to connecting people and expressed their support for the local community, emphasizing that "we are a tuff tumas people."

In addition to facilitating communication, Digicel Vanuatu encourages everyone to prioritize safety and well-being during these trying times.

Digicel Pacific's initiative to provide free calls to Vanuatu reflects their commitment to assisting those affected by natural disasters and their dedication to keeping people connected, even in the face of adversity. It is a testament to the power of telecommunications in bridging the gap during crises and showing solidarity with those in need.
