DIGICEL SAMOA EXPANDS CONNECTIVITY WITH NEW CELL TOWER IN LOTOFAGA VILLAGE, UPOLU

Digicel Samoa marked a significant milestone today with the launch of a new cell tower in Lotofaga village, Upolu. This development promises to revolutionize connectivity for local residents and businesses, offering increased mobile coverage and data speeds. The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of the Prime Minister, honorable Fiame Naomi Mataafa, who officially launched the tower with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

In her address, the honorable Prime Minister, Fiame Naomi Mataafa commended Digicel Samoa for its commitment to community development, stating, “I congratulate Digicel Samoa for remembering the communities on this side of the island and bridging the digital gap that exists in our country. I can foresee the many benefits and positive impact this will have on the schools, businesses, and subsistence growth for farmers and fishermen, but also for families to stay connected to loved ones all over the world.”

The Lotofaga site is poised to provide coverage to over 1000 residents, delivering crucial connectivity and LTE coverage for both local and international communication needs. This development is particularly significant for the communities of Lotofaga, Saletoga, and Matatufu on the south side of Upolu, renowned for their stunning scenery, pristine beaches, and vibrant communities, making them top destinations for tourists and travelers.

Anthony Seuseu, CEO of Digicel Samoa, emphasized the transformative impact of the new cell tower, stating, “Now that our cell tower is live, it stands as a vital lifeline for our community, empowering people to effortlessly reach out to loved ones abroad, supporting local tourism, supercharging businesses through seamless digital transactions, and delivering speed and reliable connectivity similar to that found in the bustling heart of Apia.”
