SAMOA POLICE AND COLLEGE PRINCIPALS COLLABORATE TO ADDRESS STUDENT BRAWL

In the wake of a recent altercation between students that gained traction on social media, Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services, alongside the Community Engagement Unit, took proactive measures by convening a meeting with the principals of Maluafou College and Leififi College. The aim? To address the incident swiftly and collaboratively, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students involved.

Led by Superintendent Tuaena Paulo, the Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services delegation stressed the importance of quelling tensions and maintaining peace within the educational institutions. Superintendent Paulo emphasized the potential ripple effects of such incidents and urged both principals to resolve the dispute amicably.

Mrs. Leatufale Lasi Tavae, principal of Maluafou College, affirmed their proactive stance by announcing the expulsion of all students implicated in the brawl. Grateful for the guidance provided by law enforcement, Mrs. Tavae emphasized her school's commitment to preventing future occurrences through collaborative efforts with Leififi College.

In response, Principal Sifuiva Malaea Lauano of Leififi College detailed actions taken following the incident, revealing that the altercation stemmed from an incident involving one of their students. Principal Lauano assured that the instigating student had been expelled and measures were in place to ensure the safety and harmony of all students.

The Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services commended the proactive approach of both college principals, acknowledging their cooperation in fostering a safer educational environment for Samoa's youth.
