DIGICEL SAMOA SECURES EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS FOR 2023-2024 HSBC SVNS, ELEVATING SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT IN THE REGION

In a groundbreaking announcement, Digicel Samoa proudly revealed its achievement in securing exclusive television rights for the highly anticipated 2023-2024 HSBC SVNS (formerly World Rugby Sevens Series). This two-year deal marks a significant milestone for Digicel TV, with the DTV App playing a pivotal role as the primary platform to witness the thrilling journey of the Samoa sevens team.
The HSBC SVNS, set to unfold in eight iconic cities including Dubai, Cape Town, Perth, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Singapore, and culminating in Madrid for the finals, represents World Rugby's ambitious effort to revamp and rebrand the global celebration of rugby sevens. This series, leading up to the Paris Olympic Games, provides a unique platform for the world's best players from 12 men's and women's teams to shine on a global stage.

While all games from the eight tournaments will be exclusively available on Digicel TV and the DTV App, a unique feature of this arrangement is that the super session matches, staged on the finals day in each tournament, will be broadcast on a local Free-to-Air (FTA) channel. This decision aims to provide wider access to the exciting sports content, with plans to engage with FTA providers shared by Digicel Samoa in the near future.
The HSBC SVNS kicks off in Dubai this weekend, promising a spectacular start to the series. The live broadcast begins on Saturday, 2nd December, at 6 pm, featuring a clash between USA and Spain in the women's division. The women's cup quarterfinals follow on Sunday at 6:30 pm, with the men's final scheduled for 4:53 am on Monday, 4th December.
