Following the violent brawl between Leifiifi College and Saint Joseph's College on Friday last week, Samoa Police have confirmed that there were 8 casualties as a result of the incident.

The Acting Commissioner of Samoa Police, Leiataua Samuelu Afamasaga stated during a conference with the media on Wednesday, that the students who were hospitalized include five from Saint Joseph's, two from Leifiifi College, and one from Maluafou College.

It is unsure whether Maluafou College was also involved in the cause of the dispute, but Leiataua stated that the Maluafou student sustained injuries because he was only trying to defend his friend who was a Leifiifi student.

"The 8 students who were hospitalized as a result of last week's brawl have all been discharged due to the lightness of their injuries. The injuries they had were scratches and bruises but nothing critical," stated the Acting Commissioner.

Leiataua also added that none of the students have been charged with any offense, but says that the investigation by Samoa Police regarding the brawl is still ongoing.
