FIAME CONGRATULATES FIJI'S NEW PRIME MINISTER

After the swearing in of the new Prime Minister for the Government of Fiji and the election of their new Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Sitiveni Rabuka delivered special greetings and
official blessings of the Leader of Samoa, the Prime Minister, to Fiame Naomi Mataafa.

The rise of Rabuka to the office of Prime Minister is the result of the Electoral Process of the country of Fiji , which united the three Political Parties to form the Coalition Government. Together to defeat the previous Fiji First President as led by the former Prime Minister, the Hon. Frank Bainimarama.

In the congratulatory speech of His Excellency Fiame, she announced that in the election process, Rabuka has become the Leader of a Joint Tourism Organization, which reflects the trust and full confidence of the people of Fiji, the deep wisdom and missionary burden that Rabuka has to lead his country in this position.

"There is a strong spirit, Samoa and Fiji will work together towards the future and maintain the warmth and strength of this partnership, and push for the implementation of the guidelines and mitigations
planned in the Pacific Ocean Strategy until 2050"stated Samoa's Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mata'afa.

“I look forward to working closely with you to further enhance and strengthen the friendship, cooperation and partnership between our two countries as well as advancing regionalism in our Blue Pacific continent through the 2050 Strategy.” she further added in her speech.

Mr. Rabuka was the former Prime Minister of Fiji from the year 1992 on the 2nd of June until the year 1999 on the 19th of May.

He became the Leader of the Opposition from November 26, 2018 until December 7, 2020. He has been serving in his country's military for years.

The re-appointment of Mr. Rabuka as the Prime Minister of Fiji , he is now 74 years old.Mr. Bainimarama has held the position of Prime Minister for a decade and six years.
