The Flying Fijians have shocked the world by recording a famous victory this morning against the Australian Wallabies 22 - 15 at the Rugby World Cup in Paris.

Fiji won their first match against Australia since 1954 thanks to a masterful exploitation of Australia's lackluster performance, moving them ahead of the Wallabies in the fiercely contested Pool C.

Fiji, who came into the game with a confident demeanor, only let up seven penalties to Australia's 18, a team that frequently appeared adrift without its injured captain Will Skelton.

The Wallabies found it difficult to establish a foothold in the match with Fijian kicker Simione Kuruvoli in fine form; the scrum-half made five out of five kicks before being replaced.

The men from the land down under momentarily had hope after a late flurry from replacement winger Suli Vunivalu and an opportunistic try from in-form Mark Nawaqanitawase. Josua Tuisova scored early in the second half, giving Fiji a 22-8 advantage, which they comfortably maintained.

Both Fiji and Australia now have six points as a consequence of the outcome, with Fiji leading due to their superior head-to-head record.

Player of the Match, Josua Tuisova responded, "I know it's a long time for us, Fiji, since 19...," when asked about the lengthy gap between victory over Australia. I'm not sure, in the past. For us, it's past tense.

"I simply wanted to say thank you to the boys for their effort. All of it was given. I told them that they had to go all out in the second half to try to win this game. We considered this contest as a championship.
