Fonotoe Appointed As Leader Of The Opposition

After the proceedings and debates of the Legislative Assembly regarding the Report of the Committee on Permanent Laws, Electoral Matters, Appeals and Constitutional Appointments, on Amendments to the Permanent Laws 2022, the recommendations and resolutions of the Committee have been approved by the General Assembly.
Therefore, on the day of the meeting, all of these provisions have been approved. Because of this, it is recognized that Fonotoe Nuafesili Pierre Lauofo, who was the Deputy Leader of the Opposition, to recognize his departure to assume the duties and responsibilities of the Leader of the Opposition.
This is the first time in history, the appointment of the Leader of the Opposition has been confirmed by the 17th Session of Parliament.
