The Office of the Attorney General has assigned four new Assistant Attorney Generals (A.A.G) as part of their team.

The newly added members will each manage four long vacant Legal Divisions , leaving
the Office with 21 vacant positions.

The new recruits have worked under the A.G's Office and have the experience to get the job done.

"Their skills and knowledge in the laws of Samoa and the Pacific are assets to the Office" stated the announcement.

The four divisions that have been vacant for quite some time , are Commercial & International Laws Division which Leilua Sosefina Faamausili has been chosen to manage.

The Legislative Drafting
Division will be under the management of Leota Leitu Moananu-Morin , and  Letoafaiga Lalau David J. Fong for the Civil Litigation and Opinion Division. As for the Criminal Prosecution Division , Lupematasila Iliganoa Atoa will manage it.

Remarks by the current Attorney General , Su’a Hellene Wallwork highlighted some of her work journeys with the four new Assistant Attorney Generals.

“I have worked with all four of these lawyers since I was appointed as Attorney General on an interim basis in September 2021. From the outset I was impressed with their work ethic, their knowledge of the
law and in depth understanding of the mechanics of Government processes.

They have all shown leadership skills and positive attitudes at a time when this Office is very short staffed and facing numerous challenges and requests for legal services to Government. I
look forward to strengthening our management team to lead the Office”’ she said delightedly.

The Attorney General’s Office now has a complete team according to the release. "The Corporate Services Manager, Pisila Pauli Tikeri, was appointed in July 2022 and has provided integral support to the Attorney General in managing the office and recruitment of new staff" the release stated.
