Justice Tafaoimalo Resigns
Justice Tafaoimalo Leilani Tuala-Warren has stepped down from her position as Supreme Court Judge after serving in the position for more than six years.
Justice Tafaoimalo has been a judge of the Supreme Court of Samoa since 2016 and is only the second woman in Samoa to take up the position of judge at Samoa’s Supreme Court. Tafaoimalo confirmed that she is vacating the position due to personal reasons.
Justice Tafaoimalo has been employed in the legal and justice sector of Samoa since 1998, first with the Office of the Attorney General, then as a partner in her family's law firm, Tuala and Tuala lawyers.
From there Tafaoimalo was selected as the Executive Director of the Samoa Law Reform Commission in 2009 before being assigned as a judge of Samoa’s District Court in 2013.
There she worked as the main Judge in the Family Court and Family Violence Court.
Tafaoimalo was also one of the main judges presiding on matters of the Constitution during and after the 2021 General Elections.
Her final day in the Supreme Court as a Judge of Samoa’s courts is scheduled to be on the 24th March of this year.
