10 Samoan seafearers were fired for misconduct
In a rare move, the ten Samoan sailors have lost their contracts after allegations of misconduct
The misconduct includes allegations that Samoan Sailors committed a sexual harassment, disorderly conduct, and alcohol and drug abuse.
Six sailors are already back in Samoa and 4 more will be sent home on the first available repatriation flight.
Samoa has seen off dozens of sailors as they take up new jobs abroad with a stern warning from the country's leaders - lay off the booze.
The advice came from acting CEO of Samoa Shipping Lautimuia Uelese Va'ai during a farewell announcement for 29 Samoans heading off for employment on foreign cruise liners, cargo ships and fishing vessels.
Lautimu’ia said that if any of the group "misbehaved", they would be deported back home and no longer considered for service on foreign ships.
Many Samoan seafarers had lost their jobs in the past over "bad behaviour".
