Man charged for assault and causing injury of shopkeeper

A man has been charged with assault and causing injury of a shopkeeper at Leififi Mart at Malifa according to Deputy Commissioner Papali’i Monalisa Tiai-Keti.

The incident had occurred on Saturday and a video that was circulated on social media showed the man who has been arrested by police punching the shopkeeper who according to Papali’i is a Chinese national.

Papali’i told the Eyespy radio on Monday that the man in the video has been arrested and charged with assault and causing injury.

Two men and the shopkeeper were seen in the video, and Papalii explained that only one was involved in the incident, and was arrested on Sunday.
