Miss Pacific Islands Contestants Visit Mapuifagalele

The current reigning Miss Pacific Islands who was accompanied by an entourage consisting of the five beautiful contestants representing Samoa, American Samoa, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Nauru visited the home for the elderly at Mapuifagalele on Wednesday this week.

The elderly residents of Mapuifagalele were greeted by the lovely contestants of this year's Miss Pacific Islands as well as the longest ever reigning Miss Samoa, Seumanu Fonoifafo McFarland.

Smiles were seen on the faces of the elderly at Mapuifagalele as they talked and conversed with the contestants of the pageant.

Mapuifagalele was given a monetary donation to assist with caring for the elderly.

One of the contestants, Miss Nauru, Alexandra Melody Pitcher, stated that it was a pleasure for to meet the elderly, and says that she is excited for the upcoming pageant.

The resident nurse of Mapuifagalele, Elenoa Salanoa, said that the visit by the contestants has brought happiness to Mapuifagalele.

"They (the elderly) were very happy meeting the contestants in person. As for the monetary gift, Mapuifagalele appreciates the donation and will use it on caring for the elderly," she said.

After the visit to Mapuifagalele, the contestants and the current Miss Pacific Islands made their way to one of the Vodafone Samoa's headquarters in Maluafou.

The Chief Executive Officer of Vodafone Samoa, Mr. Rana Bose acknowledged the service of Seumanu Fonoifafo McFarland to Samoa, and also to Vodafone.

Seumanu was given a token of appreciation from Vodafone Samoa on the form of a portrait painting of the current Miss Pacific.

The pageant which will be held this Friday has gotten the Pacific Community excited as the pageant was postponed in the past two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
