Missing 77year old Father Search Stops
An investigation into a missing 77-year-old man who left his Asau house on Friday, April 14, to travel inland to his plantation has been suspended by Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services.
Although the search has been suspended, the missing person case is still active, and Tautaifau Kipaoa Faavesi's whereabouts are still a mystery, according to Police Commissioner Auapaau Logoitino Filipo.
Tautaifau hasn't returned home since 9 a.m. on Friday, April 14, 2023. He was last spotted wearing a black striped shirt and a black i.e. when he left his house for his plantation.
Every morning, according to his children, he would head out to his plantation, but on that particular Friday, the 77-year-old man did not return back to their home.
The Police Commissioner claims that villagers from matai and aumaga have been actively involved in the extensive search for Tautaifau since he was missing.
Police utilized drones to scan the rugged area, but the old man was nowhere to be seen.
Commissioner Auapaau expressed gratitude for the coordinated efforts with Samoa Fire and Emergency Services (FESA) and the numerous village volunteers.
