New M.P for Vaimauga #3 Confirmed
Lautimuia now occupies the seat which was formerly held by the late Tapunuu Papaliitele Unasa Niko Lee Hang who passed away last year.
At the end of the by-election for Vaimauga #3, three candidates vied for the seat, with the majority vote confirmed for Mr. Lautimuia who is running under the umbrella of the Faatuatua i le Atua Samoa ua Tasi (F.A.S.T) political party who gained 1,531 votes.
Samau Leatigagaeono Solitamāli'i Timani from the Human Rights Protection Party (H.R.P.P.) came in second place with 1,082 votes while the Feagaimaali'i Bruce To'omalatai Utaileuo came in third with 106 votes.
Of the total number of people who were able to vote and cast their ballots, 2,719 were cast while another 18 cast their ballots but did not cast their ballots correctly, and were cast off.
Lautimuia expressed his gratitude for the support and trust of his District which has selected him as the representative for the District of Vaimauga #3 in Parliament.
He has also promised that he will work hard and use the extent of his knowledge and skills to implement developments that will benefit not only Vaimauga #3 but as a service for Samoa as a whole.
