Samoa La’ala’a donates $10,000 to Mapuipulotu

Walking group "Samoa La'ala'a" has donated $10,000 to the Mapuipulotu Home for the Elderly in Savaii.

Samoa La’ala’a, a walking group comprising close friends, decided during their regular morning walks, and was formed in 2000 by a group of friends committed to health and well-being.

The group had decided to host a fundraising to assist Mapuipulotu's construction.

The cheque for $10,000 was presented to Leatigaga Peni Tofa who had represented the Mapuipulotu Home for the Aged Charity, by the Minister of Women, Community and Social Development Leota Laki Lamositele-Sio at Hotel Elisa.

According to a Samoa La'ala'a statement, Leota stated that the donation is a reflection of the group's aspiration to help the vulnerable people of the communities.

Leatigaga had thanked Samoa La'ala'a on behalf of the Mapuipulotu Home for the Aged Charity and had acknowledged the group by becoming partners of the project.

"Samoa La’ala’a wishes to thank all the organizations, agencies, and individuals who donated and contributed to our efforts for this worthy cause and we look forward to your ongoing support," the Samoa La'ala'a statement reads.
