SAMOA NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT POLICY 2 (SNEP 2) TO BE INTRODUCED

The second Samoa National Employment Policy (SNEP 2) will be launched
this month and is set from 2021-2022 and 2025-2026. The launching will
be conducted by the Minister of Commerce Industry and Labour Leatinuu
Wayne Fong.
In the presence of ILO (International Labour Organisation) Pacific
Director Martin Karimli where a virtual discussion was conducted .
The official launching is set to unfold on the 7th of this month.
The National Employment Policy is a blueprint that provides a
partnership and elaborate goal, as well as a structured plan that
targets employment targets in Samoa.
The main goal of this second employment policy will be based on
examinations which were done in 2022 that saw the need for
non-discriminatory policy to ensure resilisent recovery of employment
when the Covid-19 crisis was at its height.
The labour market complications will be under close observations so
identifications of the leading organizations with the similar
legislation and coverage. All with reassurance of the The Employment
Policy who is part of ILO’s technical assistance for these Labour
Market situations.
One of the most significant aspects of the Employment Policy is
ensuring good management when executing this process as the Policy is
set to support the labour market and employment sector under the
Pathway to Development of Samoa 2021 - 2026 (PDS).
