Samoa Police Collaborate With NZ Police To Tackle Crime

Police Commissioner Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo together with Deputy Commissioner Papali’i Monalisa Tiai-Keti and three other representatives from the Samoa Police, Prisons and Corrections Services (SPPCS) arrived in New Zealand over the weekend, ahead of New Zealand Commissioner of Police Andrew Coaster’s invitation.

Commissioner Andrew Coaster had extended his invitation to SPPCS Commissioner and his delegates. Upon the visit, SPPCS and NZPOL will demonstrate and discuss prevention approaches.

It will also include a dialogue on the 2019 Structure Review Report of Samoa Police which NZPOL had assisted SPPCS in compiling.

It will also see SPPCS members visit the NZ Royal Police College to “observe aspects of New Zealand Police recruitment and training, Dog Training Centre, which they can learn from and bring that experience back to Samoa.

NZPOL will also discuss their prospective support to Samoa Police in the future. Samoa Police Commissioner Auapa’au has stated however, that he will utilize this forum to give deliberation of support for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in 2024.
