Seuseu Takes Over M.A.F As New C.E.O

Seuseu Dr. Joseph Tauati will take over as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (M.A.F.) for the ensuing three years after Cabinet today approved the Interview Panel's proposal.

Over the course of the past six years, Seuseu has held the position of Chief Executive Officer of the Scientific Research Organization of Samoa (S.R.O.S.)

Beginning in 2002 as a Quarantine Officer, for the Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Tauati steadily advanced through the ranks of promotion.

He joined SROS in 2011 as a Principal Research Scientist, and in 2017 he was made CEO. Over the years, he has expanded on his senior management skills and informed his work with his academic and professional credentials.

The S.R.O.S.'s successful term under Dr. Tauati attests to his love of agriculture and his commitment to using science to advance the industry.

He graduated from the University of the South Pacific with a Bachelor of Agriculture, the University of Kochi in Japan with a Master of Bio-Resources Science, and the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom with a PhD in Molecular Biology and Phytopathology.

Tilafono David Hunter, the MAF's CEO for the previous six years, is succeeded by Dr. Tautai. Tilafono chose not to reapply for the job.
