Team Black Mamba Alpha has taken out first place in this year's Toa Competition after an excellent performance against their rivals in a down-to-the-wire finale last Saturday.

According to Brandon Sefo of CrossFit Fatutoa, this year's Toa Games is the biggest one they've held so far, with 27 teams that include four teams from American Samoa, and 108 athletes who vied for the number one spot during the 2-day competition which kicked off on Friday and ended on Saturday.

There were also thousands of supporters who turned up in person at Apia Park Stadium to witness this year's Toa Games , as well as viewers who were able to to watch the event broadcasted live on blu tv.

Mr. Sefo further added that, "The best part of the Toa Competition is not winning first place, but the journey that the athletes embark on to become better versions of themselves each day,"

"Our goal is to create an inclusive and safe community where our athletes compete, learn and grow together, and the Toa Competition is part of our commitment to building that community," he said.

The captain of Team Ultra FunkFit American Samoa, Mr. Kennedy Nofoagatoto'a, whose team was able to clinch third place in the RX Division of the Toa Games stated in an interview with Eyespy Radio that, "We haven't been able to take part in last year's Toa Gamesdue to the pandemic, but we're ecstatic that the borders have reopened, which has allowed us the opportunity to compete in the games,"

He further added that this is his first time competing in the Toa Games, although FunkFit American Samoa has competed in previous games. "I am thankful we were able to get third place, and hope that our performance inspired people to give this type of sport a try."

Mr. Brandon Sefo hopes that next year's Toa Games will mirror this year's success, and encourages other gyms to join in on the action.
