Total Number of COVID-19 related deaths rises to 22

The Ministry of Health (M.O.H.) has confirmed two new COVID-19 related deaths, a 36 year old man, and a 94 year old woman, both who were unvaccinated.

According to Situational Report on COVID-19 pandemic from the 4th to the 6th of May, a 36 year old man and 94 year old woman with no know comorbidities were unvaccinated.

M.O.H. had also confirmed that there are 267 new community cases and six cases in managed isolation at the Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital at Motootua.

"Our prayers and condolences are with the families and children of the persons who have passed away. Out of respect for the families and relatives, we will not be making any further comments," the report reads.

"The public is again urged to get vaccinated as vaccination remains the best defense against COVID-19 pandemic. Keeping our families and loved ones safe is everyone’s responsibility. Please stay home and isolate if you are feeling unwell and practice safe personal hygiene at all times. All are required to wear face masks and keep to the 2 meter social distancing in public places."

According to the M.O.H. the cumulative number of COVID-19 positive cases (border and community cases) is currently 10,296.
