Twelve new cases in Am Samoa: 304 community cases so far.

On March 08, 2022, Covid tests were conducted of which 12 individuals tested positive.

The cumulative total of community transmitted cases of Covid now stands at 304.

There were 0 reported hospitalizations related to COVID-19. Those who test positive are served with a Home Isolation Directive. Anyone with COVID-19 must stay away from other people, this may include others in their home.

About 80.7 % of the total population is fully vaccinated. On Saturday, March 5, about 1569 doses were administered at the COVID-19 Vaccination Drive-Thru Clinic.

American Samoa has announced that Code Red will be extended for another week and certain restrictions will be relaxed.

The governor said the deadly covid virus is spreading however it is evident that God has not forsaken American Samoa.

He said that lifestyles and behaviors must change in light of the covid pandemic and as has been shown in the United States and other countries obeying instructions is the way to protect the loss of lives from the deadly virus.

He urged residents to get tested for covid and also to get vaccinated and boosted.
