12 apply for Education Ministry’s C.E.O. position

There currently twelve people who have applied for the Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O.) position of the Ministry of Education Sports and Culture (M.E.S.C.), according to the Minister of Education Seuula Ioane.

Seuula told Eyespy Radio on Tuesday afternoon that they have not come to a decision yet on the C.E.O. role.

He added that the online interview process is currently ongoing.

"But there should be a CEO by now because there are a lot of plans, but we are currently waiting for a CEO to do the work," Seuula said.

"The information provided to me was that there were 12 that had applied. They have completed their application forms."

Seuula understands that there are those who have applied that are currently working in the Ministry, while some are from the National University of Samoa (N.U.S.).

Asked by members of the media on when someone will be chosen to take on the C.E.O. role, Seuula said: "It depends on the ongoing interviews but the hope is that we will find someone soon to lead the Ministry."
