ALO PAOPAO ACADEMY 24 HOUR PADDLE-A-THON FUNDRAISER

Alo Paopao Academy is pleased to announce its first ever 24-Hour paddle radiothon fundraiser open to all ages and organisations, both private and public sectors.

The 2 day event is set to kick-off on Tuesday 20th December from 10am - 10am Wednesday 21st of December 2022 at the Apia Harbour, and will run for 24 hours straight.

All members of the public as well as Government Ministries, Companies and any other parties interested in enjoying great fun on the water are invited to join.

As part of the event all guests will have the option of selecting a time slot to paddleon the water, ranging from 20 minutes, 40 minutes, 60 minutes, and 90 minutes.

The main objective of the two-day radiothon is to help raise funds for new Paddling equipment, repairs, and to enable the Alo Paopao Academy’s Junior Holiday Programme to carry out its training camps and other initiatives furthering the development of paddling in Samoa.

It is their hope that this much needed assistance will provide the Academy with the resources needed to continue growing the sport and Academy and raise awareness of Water safety through the educational programmes it has to offer for the community.

Ulugia Jay Ah-Fook - Director of Alo Paopao Academy, a paddling coach an avid sports enthusiast with 35 years of experience in the sport is a strong advocate for the educational benefits of water sports. With its establishment in 2012, Alo Paopao Academy is no stranger to promoting Paddling in Samoa.

The Academy has collaborated with several prestigious groups & individuals such as paddlesports medallist Anne Cairns, Saga Frost Kowhai Intermediate School, Samoa Fire & Emergency Services Authority, Samoa Outrigger Canoe Association and many more.
