Manu Samoa Northern Hemisphere Tour
Manu Samoa’s Head Coach Vaovasamanaia Seilala Mapusua in an exclusive interview on eyespy radio’s Day Ked Ezy morning show with host Young Sefa.
Vaovasamanaia has announced the team’s preparations for its 2022 end of year tests, which will commence in the first week of November.
Representatives from the Manu Samoa squad expressed their hopes to put Samoa at the top of World Rugby rankings by the end of this year.
Vaovasmanaia confirmed that their tour of the Northern Hemisphere would consist of three matches
throughout the month of November.
The team will play its first match against Italy on November 5th, and then move on to face Georgia on the 12th and finally Romania on November 19th in Bucharest.
This will also be the first Northern Hemisphere tour for the Samoan team since Vaovasamanaia
became Head Coach, and representatives from the squad expressed their hopes to put Samoa at the
top of World Rugby rankings by the end of this year.
The Head Coach shared “despite the setbacks and difficulties of the previous two years, we are
eager to embark on this challenging tour”.
He added “This has been the most difficult team to select with the quality players available. We are
building some quality depth and I look forward to working with this group.”
Vaovasamanaia also explained that they intend to capitalize on their victory in the Pacific Nation Cup and
continue refining their style of play whole keeping a close eye on the team selection for 2023.
The tour provides Manu Samoa with the opportunity to end a good yet tough year on a high, and
both the players and Management expressed their sincere appreciation for the support and
encouragement they have received from supporters in Samoa and around the world.
